Editor's Note: Sarah and Jenny had a special bond from the beginning. |
Oh, sweet Sarah! Happy Birthday, dear friend! I can’t believe you’re 40! (I’m sure you love
people saying that?! J) Does that mean I’ve known you since you were
26?! As I’ve gotten older and as we’ve moved here and there, I’ve realized how
much I value having history with a friend.
And that only comes with time, and with weaving in and out of each
other’s lives. And that is the kind of
friend you have been to me, the kind that has been woven in to my life. It doesn’t matter where I am in the world, I
know when I see you again, we will laugh together again, connect again, and it
will be like I’d hardly left. I have
come to learn not to take this kind of friendship for granted. So, along with telling you how much your
friendship has blessed me, I also want you to know that I just plain like you a
lot and I think you are funny. J
I love to laugh with you. It’s the kind
of laughing that is so good for my heart.
I also love how ever since I
first met you at DSC, it has been so apparent how you desire to live out your
faith in Jesus in practical ways that touch people around you. I love how I’m encouraged to be a better mom
when I’m with you, and that you don’t pretend to do this mother-thing
perfectly. But you press in to God for
strength and wisdom. I love how God has
given you a love for his word and desire to understand and obey it. May this year of 40 be one of sweet times
spent with him, allowing you to experience victory and joy that only He can
give you. I love you! Happy Birthday!! Eat some chocolate! May his Spirit refresh you like a beautiful,
perfect fall day in Wisconsin. Hugs, Jenny
